children's benefit

Children's Action Network is proud to announce that Executive Director Jennifer Perry was presented with the Nancy Daly Advocacy Award at the Lewis Hine Awards for Service to Children and Youth by the National Child Labor Committee (NCLC) on Monday, January 28th in New York. Named for the acclaimed NCLC photographer who documented early-20th century exploitation of children, the Lewis Hine Awards honor those individuals who, as professionals or volunteers, give of themselves and go the extra mile for the well-being of young people. The Nancy Daly Advocacy Award memorializes the late Los Angeles activist and philanthropist Nancy Daly whose continuous efforts over many years provided support and opportunity for thousands of young people.

There are more than 20,000 children in foster care in Los Angeles. For many of them the holidays are an empty time...with no permanent family or holiday wishes granted.

You can make a difference for these children with the simple act of purchasing an item from their holiday wish list. Seemingly simple, the act says I care and reaches across boundaries to touch their lives.

Children's Action Network has a program to make this happen...SantaCAN.

SantaCAN ensures that the holidays are a wonderful time for these children by making sure they each receive their most wished for gift from a wish list they compile. Thanks to the generosity of SantaCAN holiday angels, more than 2,000 foster youth have had their wishes fulfilled!

It is so simple to bring a smile to a foster child's face. Just click purchase a present and it will be on its way to that special child you have chosen!
