Children's Action Network presents Heart Gallery Los Angeles is a special exhibit of photographs featuring Los Angeles foster youth hoping for a loving adoptive family, designed to highlight the need to find adoptive families for waiting children. Heart Galleries feature foster children who were removed from abusive and neglectful situations, but still have hope. They love to laugh, to learn, and to be with their friends. Most of all, they dream of finding their own forever family. Our goal is to help these deserving children find families by recruiting professional photographers to create a gallery of photographs which capture the children’s true beauty and spirit.

Special thanks to our curator Angie Featherstone and all the wonderful photographers
who participated including Susanne Elstein, Jimmy Martinez, Sal Owen, Eric Politzer,
Hannah Sloan, Ted and Debbie, Amy Von Harrington

The project is a partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.

Anthony, 12

Anthony is a thoughtful and very bright young man. He has great manners and is very patient and giving, especially with younger kids. It is obvious how focused he is when he speaks with you and looks you directly in the eye. He also enjoys many different sports, soccer and basketball being his favorite. He is agile and full of fun and he throws himself into the games! His dream is to someday have his very own family cheering him on in the sidelines. He also enjoys camping, being outdoors, playing at the park and even enjoys school. He loves music and is learning to play the piano now and loves it! He is ready to take up the guitar next. He is open to all different types of families and reports he wouldn't mind sharing the love with a sibling or two.

Jesus, 14

Jesus is a young man who comes alive in the great outdoors. He loves to stay active with boy scouts, camping, hiking, surfing and running. He is an excellent student, and has been recognized for his academic achievements. This is no small feat for any child, but even more amazing for a child who has experienced his share of heartbreaks. In his down time he is an avid reader of mysteries and detective novels. Jesus loves animals and hopes to someday have a dog or a cat of his own. Above all Jesus would love to be a part of a family who will be there for him unconditionally, and keep him on the right path so he can fulfill his dream of attending college.

Isaiah, 8

Sweet, affectionate, loving and outgoing, Isaiah is a charming little guy who wants a family more than anything. He craves the love and attention of adults and shines when given that one on one attention. Isaiah is always up for a new adventure and loves to be engaged in physical activities. Running, riding his bike and going to the park are his favorites. Fascinated with police officers, he aspires to be one someday. Isaiah was born prematurely and as a result has some delays and mild hearing loss. Combined with special education services at school, he is making great progress in all areas.
