National Adoption Day

Fulton County Judge Belinda Edwards and an adoptive parent
Tamera Bradley and her son Brandon talk about National Adoption Day -- November is Adoption Month .
It's traditionally a day when courts around the country focus on finalizing the adoptions
of several children who have been in the foster system. On Saturday the court is expecting to finalize more than 25 adoptions.

The National Adoption Day Coalition, of which Children’s Action Network is a founding partner,
has helped to make the dreams of thousands of children come true by working with courts,
judges, attorneys, adoption professionals, child welfare agencies and advocates to finalize
adoptions and find permanent, loving homes for children in foster care.

On National Adoption Day 2008, more than 300 courts and communities in all 50 states
came together to finalize more than 4,500 adoptions of children from foster care and to celebrate
all families who adopt. More than 24,000 children have been adopted from foster care on
National Adoption Day since 2002.
